We still think it’s a huge miss that Jeep never built the J6 Gladiator two-door concept from 2016, now SoFlo Customs will make that a reality.
Back during the 2019 Easter Jeep Safari, and before the world turned upside-down, Jeep built a two-door pickup truck with a six-foot bed and removable top called the J6. It was essentially a two-door Gladiator and made many fans (as well as buyers) hope that it was a sign that Jeep was going to build the Jeep truck of their dreams. As we all well know now, the J6 remained a concept and, well, became a moniker for an even more insane time in the U.S. Seems like the idea of a two-door Jeep pickup is still a worthy idea for Joseph Ghattas and his crew at SoFlo Customs.
The JTT, which stands for “Just The Tip” of their creativity (we’ll allow you to make that decision), is based off the Wrangler JL Unlimited. To give it that proper homage to the Scrambler, the rear doors and cabin are converted to a five-foot pickup bed. Additionally, there is a two-foot by two-foot built-in hidden storage compartment for cargo that needs to be discreet. Attached just behind the new truncated but still removable roof is an all-aluminum chase rack reminiscent of the old-school—and a bit of the J6’s—tube bar. The JTT can be also repowered by a selection of three engines ranging from a 500 lb-ft of torque turbodiesel engine, the 392 Hemi V-8 producing 485 hp, or the 717-hp supercharged Hellcat Hemi V-8.
Other exterior custom options include unique paint jobs in high-gloss and off-road armor paint, just like the JTT in the images is shot in. Wheel options include 20- and 22-inch diameter custom wheels with 37- to 40-inch diameter tires.
Inside, you can create the ultimate two-door Wrangler experience you desire thanks to SoFlo’s team of upholsters. However, despite all the changes, the JTT still retains Jeep’s adaptive cruise control, backup camera, and infotainment using Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connections. But it does come with an auxiliary switch pod for control of the new exterior off-road lights SoFlo Customs adds to the JTT.
While around 30,000 Jeep Scrambler pickups were ever built over six years, SoFlo will only build 27 JTTs that you can order from Turn Key Vehicles that SoFlo sells their custom vehicles through. As for the reason for just 27, you can blame the rockstars. “The JTT is a rockstar of a pickup truck,” Ghattas said, “and as we all know the iconic rockstars like Hendrix, Joplin and Cobain earned their legendary status in only 27 years on this earth.” Well, the number is really 25, as the first two JTTs have already been built and delivered. As far as cost, well, if you’re asking that—as the saying goes—you probably can’t afford it.
